Miles Electronic Keyboard Review
The Miles Electronic Keyboard is a low-quality electronic instrument designed to be a learning tool. That being said, it is ridiculously expensive for what you actually get. And while folks on Amazon.com rated it a 2/10, we think thatâs being quite generous. Sorry, Miles! This is one of the the worst pianos weâve found so far.

Miles Electronic Keyboard: Overview
The Miles Electronic Keyboard, also known as the Miles âKiddiesâ Electronic Keyboard 3738, is a learning keyboard designed for children ages 6-9.Â
Miles is an electronics company based in Guangdong, China, and has quite the negative track record. For some reason, quite a few websites still list and this instrument. Keep reading, and youâll soon understand how concerning that is!Â
Features
To say that this keyboard has features is a bit of a stretch, but I have done the research so you donât have to!
Microphone Input
This keyboard appears to come with a cheap plastic microphone, and, at the very least, has a micophone input.Â
Two Internal Speakers
While the dimensions of the speakers are not listed, the 3738 clearly has two speakers, one on each side of the instrument.Â
37 Unweighted KeysÂ
These 37 keys do not have touch sensitivity or weight to them, so they feel more like a really bad synth than anything else. A lot of little beginner keyboards are unweighted, but we can do better than this for our kids!Â
Battery-Powered
This Miles Electronic Keyboard is solely battery powered.Â
Multiple Voices
The sound can be changed using the onboard sound banks buttons. Some of the options include piano, and orchestral instruments.Â
Specifications
- Power: Battery powered
- Weight: 500 grams
- Dimensions: 100 x 20 x 15 cm
Who Is It Suitable For?
The Miles line of electronic keyboards are aimed at young children ages 6-9, but I think that they are a low-quality learning tool that isnât really worth it,Â
Sound Testing
As the creator of this video saysâŠâThis is horribleâ. If you want to have a good laugh, play the video.Â
Other Models of Miles Keyboards
I hate to say it, but the other models from this company donât get much better. Miles does make a 61 keyboard geared towards adults, but again, I wouldnât recommend it. This subpar keyboard has a stand and organ sounds, at least.Â
There is also another iteration of the âKiddiesâ keyboard, which has 44 notes instead of 37. Again, 10/10 would not recommend this to anyone.Â
A big red flag for this company is that their products are available on low-end online markets such as Alibaba. When was the last time you saw a Nord Stage 3 on there? ExactlyâŠ.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Itâs cheap
- You can use it as a recording challenge
The only âproâ in my book is that this piano is super cheap. But, unless you are going to use it as a recording challenge, why would anyone ever buy this?! Take my warning: Donât.Â
Cons
- The sounds are awful
- The action is loud and clacky
- The keyboard is unweighted and has no touch sensitivity
The worst cons to this keyboard are the sounds and action. What is the point of having an âOrchestralâ sounds section if everything sounds like it went though a rickety gutter? This isnât hardley even useable as a sample in a lofi setting. Not to mention, every note comes with a distracting âclackâ. I havenât felt the touch of this keyboard, and I donât care to.Â
On the bright side, this keyboard seems to be more popular in Egypt and the Phillipines than anywhere else, so we probably wonât hear it in our households (Any readers from those 2 countries out there?! If so, hello!). Now, onto better educational alternatives.Â
Alternatives to the Miles 3738Â
Virtually any other kiddie keyboard is better than the 3738. If you are looking for music tools for your toddler, try the brand LittleTyke.Â
This one here even has Bluetooth compatibility!Â
However, If you are looking for something that your kid will age out of more slowly, try a ârealâ digital piano, such as the Yamaha âPâ line.Â

Miles Electronic Keyboard: Conclusion
In conclusion, as far as learning tools go, it really doesnât get much worse than this. Stay away from the Miles brand as a whole, and save up until you can buy a nicer small keyboard with touch sensitivity- At the very least!
Music quote of the week:Â
âI think there is always going to be inspired music and there are always going to be inspired listeners and there is always going to be an inspired method of getting it from A to B.â
